Tide checker FAQ
Where do these California tide times come from?
Live high/low predictions from NOAA CO-OPS public tide stations linked to each beach guide. Times use Pacific local time.
Are tide predictions exact at every cove?
No. Station readings are regional. Swell, wind, and local rocks change what you feel on the sand—especially at pocket beaches.
Why is my beach missing from the list?
Only beaches with a configured NOAA CO-OPS station appear here. We keep adding stations as we publish coastal POIs.
Should I swim based only on this tool?
No. Use lifeguard guidance, surf reports, and your judgment. Tides are one planning input, not a safety clearance.
